The Char Dham Yatra is a spiritual pilgrimage to four sacred shrines in Uttarakhand: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

The yatra usually begins around late April or early May and ends in October or early November, depending on weather and temple schedules.

The most recommended periods are May–June and September–October, when the weather is favorable and the risk of landslides or heavy rain is lower.

For most Indian pilgrims, no special permit is required. Some remote areas may have additional checks.

Generally, photography inside temple sanctums is restricted. It’s better to check locally or follow the rules at each shrine.

Basic medical services / first-aid camps are usually available at major stops. But it's a good idea to carry a personal medical kit.
